Elise Bauer is the founder of Simply Recipes. A food blogging pioneer, Elise launched Simply Recipes in 2003 as a way to keep track of her family’s recipes, and grew it into one of the most popular cooking websites in the world, reaching millions of readers every month. Whether sharing recipes, explaining cooking techniques, or mentoring fellow bloggers, Elise is an educator at heart and believes that by generously sharing what we know, everyone benefits. Elise is a graduate of Stanford University, with a BS in Environmental Science, an MA in Food Research, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business. Before diving into the food world, Elise was a marketing executive in Silicon Valley with Internet startups as well companies such as Apple and Symantec. In 2016 Elise sold Simply Recipes to Fexy Media and recently stepped down from day-to-day operations to focus more on non-profit work in Sacramento where she lives.
