Dear Everything Foodies,
Five years ago, I created Everything Food Conference to be a safe and welcoming place for businesses and experts to unite over something we all love: food.
What began as a simple idea was transformed into a community full of driven, committed, diverse, and passionate food experts from all across the world. It’s been a dream come true to see my initial vision come to life in ways I never thought possible.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping my vision come to life.
When I began planning EFC 2020 over 16 months ago, something I never thought possible also happened: a global pandemic. Like so many businesses around the world, COVID-19 has turned our world upside down, and as the leader of the EFC team, it’s been so, so difficult to navigate these challenging waters for our community.
Which brings me to today’s post:
I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel Everything Food Conference 2020, and Everything Food Conference indefinitely.
While it pains me to arrive at this choice, I know that it’s for the safety and health of our community. There are so many unknowns in the world today, and my Everything Food Mission is (and always has been) to keep Everything Foodies safe. While this is a tough call, it is the right call, and I feel comfort knowing that canceling the conference will help keep you and your families safe.
We stand by our Everything Foodies and want to be transparent about what’s happening next. Here’s what you can expect:
- EFC 2020 will not take place. Please clear your calendars and reschedule any travel that you can. If you need proof of cancellation to get a travel refund, please feel free to send this post, the official email or please download our official letter here.
- You will be receiving refunds for your EFC 2020 ticket, and you will receive refunds for any tickets you rolled over into 2021. We will be moving as fast as possible to get you refunds. However, as a small business that’s put down many, many deposits for EFC 2020, please note that it may take up to 90 days to receive your refund. I recognize and appreciate that you made a significant investment in the EFC experience, and I take that investment seriously. As an owner of EFC, I will also be selling personal assets, including our family home, to ensure everyone gets a refund as soon as possible. Ticket refunds will also include refunds on workshops and speed networking.
- Once the refund is issued, it will take up to 10 business days for the funds to post to your account. Within the next 90 days, you will receive an email from EFC as soon as your ticket refund is issued. After you get that email from our team, please contact your bank provider if it takes longer than 10 days to reflect in your account.
- We will keep the email [email protected] active to help during this transition period. Please note that at this time, we will only be replying to urgent questions, and we ask that you wait the full 90 days before contacting our team about refunds. This email address is not a personal address, and any emails about topics outside of refunds will not receive a response.
Everything Foodies, thank you for making our community what it has been. I am so grateful for your support over the years, and I am grateful for your understanding during this challenging time.
Sending you love and final well wishes,
Kami Kilgore
